Shark Bay -> Monkey Mia -> Point Quobba

Our first stop in Shark Bay was in Hamelin pool to see the Stromatolite. It was interesting to see it and to read the information signs. Then, we’ve been to Shell beach where there is no sand, just little tiny shells. That’s why it’s named like that! It was beautiful. Unfortunately it was too cold to have a swim there. Then we’ve been to Denham. We ate next to the turquoise sea… Amazing! We met a German couple (him German, her Italian from the German speaking part!) and we spent the night with them in an industrial place where we slept!

The next day, after taking an illegal shower in a caravan park (where the guy from the reception saw us), we hit the road to Monkey Mia (entrance fee: 8$ each person). We enjoyed three times the dolphins feeding. And the lucky beautiful Laura had the chance to feed one dolphin! Between two feeding we took our breakfast on the beach.  After the last feeding, we’ve been to Francois Peron National Park. We didn’t do the whole park because you need a 4WD for that. We just soaked in the hot artesian waters and use power points at the BBQ place. Then we’ve been to the Little Lagoon to cook at BBQ. But the BBQ didn’t work and the place was not SO beautiful like I could imagine it… So we ate next to the turquoise sea again. And we had a shower in the same caravan park and we slept in the same place than the day before.

Everything was fine, until a ranger woke us up at 5.30am!! We didn’t get a fine but we had to leave the place. So we moved next to the little port where my travel partners slept again… At 8am, I woke them up and we’ve been to Eagle bluff. It’s a lookout from where (if you are lucky, not like us) you can watch sharks, dugongs, whales, turtles… We had our breaky there with the gorgeous view on the lagoon. After that, we drove to Carnavon. We stopped at the visitor center, Woolworth and Chicken Treat (for the power point). And we took notice that people there where really not nice! The only stuff we liked was to see a tamarillo from Delroy farm, where we used to work! So we left this grumpy town for Point Quobba. We spent the night in Point Quobba caravan park (5.50$ a night) where we met an Australian and an Irish. They offered us bier and meat. I took a sausage, but just to be polite, of course! We had a chat around the fire. It was a nice night.

The day after, with Laura we ran until the Blowhole. Ok, SHE ran and I more walked! Later I did snorkeling in Point Quobba lagoon. I saw beautiful fishes but currents were really too strong and I couldn’t take good pictures. Then we finally enjoyed the sun on the white sand ;)

Before noon, we hit the road to Coral Bay where we had a new good adventure!

To be continued…
